New Delhi. Raj Thackeray has written that Maharashtra politics has lost an excellent leader. Ajit Pawar and I entered politics at almost the same time, although we came to know each other much later.

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) president Raj Thackeray has expressed deep condolences on the untimely demise of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. Describing Ajit Pawar as his friend, he wrote a long post on social media X and paid a heartfelt tribute to him (Expressing his profound grief). Expressing deep grief, Raj Thackeray wrote that at a time when the administration needs to rise above power, Maharashtra has lost an extraordinary leader. Along with this, he has said a big thing in this tweet. He wrote, “There is a price to be paid for speaking frankly in politics, I don’t know how much Ajit Pawar would have had to pay.”

reach the top in less time
Hours after the news of Ajit Pawar’s plane crash broke, Raj Thackeray shared a long tribute message in Marathi on social media X, in which he remembered Ajit Pawar’s personality, working style and his role in politics. “Maharashtra has lost an outspoken and capable leader,” he wrote. Raj Thackeray further wrote, “Maharashtra politics has lost an outstanding leader with the demise of my friend and state Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. We both entered politics at almost the same time. Although our closeness came later, his passion for politics took him to the top in a very short time.”

Had a deep understanding of change in politics
He said that Ajit Pawar may have come from the political tradition of Pawar Saheb, but with time he created his own independent identity and established it throughout Maharashtra. Referring to the 1990s, Raj Thackeray said that during that period there was rapid urbanization in Maharashtra. Rural areas started becoming semi-urban, but the tone of politics remained rural, while the problems became urban. He wrote, “Ajit Pawar had a deep understanding of this change and was an expert in handling this kind of politics. Pimpri-Chinchwad and Baramati are living examples of this. The way he developed these two areas, even his political opponents accept it.”

Pawar had a strong hold on the administration
Raj Thackeray said that Ajit Pawar had an extraordinary hold on the administration. He wrote, “He knew how to take forward the stuck files. In today’s era when the administration should work above power, the departure of such a leader is very sad. Raj Thackeray described Ajit Pawar’s outspokenness and forthrightness as his biggest identity. He said, “If any work could not be done, Ajit Pawar would refuse up front. And if it was possible, he would put all his strength into completing it. It was not his style to entertain people with false promises or to do politics by mobilizing crowds.”

There is a price to be paid for candor and honesty
In the same context, he wrote, “In politics, one has to pay a price for candor and honesty. I know this from my experience and it can be estimated what a heavy price Ajit Pawar would have paid for it.” Raj Thackeray described Ajit Pawar as a leader doing politics free from casteism. He said that in today’s politics, such leaders are becoming less and less who have the courage to work without caste calculations and Ajit Pawar was at the forefront of them.
