Raipur : Realizing the resolve to provide health facilities to the last mile of MCB district, the Health Department in Bharatpur development block has presented an inspiring example of service, dedication and sensitive administration. Despite challenges like inaccessible geographical conditions, hilly areas and weak mobile network, the Health Department team remains active in the field to make Ayushman Vaya Vandan cards for the elderly.
In view of the serious problem of network in the interior villages, an innovative system has been adopted by the department. Wherever better mobile network is available, senior citizens are being transported there with respect and their Vaya Vandan card is being prepared on the spot. Due to this humanitarian and practical initiative, many elderly people have already got the direct benefits of the scheme, who were earlier deprived of it due to technical barriers.
Health workers are not only doing the work of making cards with full devotion and sensitivity, but are also making senior citizens aware by giving them information about the benefits of the scheme.
Ayushman Vaya Vandan Card is an important scheme run for senior citizens aged 70 years and above, under which free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh is provided to the eligible beneficiaries.
There is no requirement of family income in this scheme, due to which every eligible elderly is assured of health security. Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Avinash Khare said that the aim of the department is that no eligible senior citizen of the district should be deprived of this scheme. The problem of network is certainly challenging, but the health department team is working in the field with full commitment and reaching every elderly person.
