Raipur : Under the ambitious Krishak Unnati Yojana of Chhattisgarh Government, the work of procurement of paddy at minimum support price is going on at a fast pace in the state. Till January 18, a total of 7 lakh 67 thousand 780 metric tons of paddy has been purchased through 182 procurement centers in Mahasamund district. Till now, D.O. of total 518507.40 metric tonnes of paddy has been issued. Issued D.O. Against this, till now 297487.26 metric tonnes of paddy has been lifted. Besides, there is enthusiasm among farmers due to token system, electronic weighing, moisture testing and transparent payment system at all procurement centres. Facilities like instant cash withdrawal from micro ATMs have also been made available at the centres, due to which the process of selling paddy has become easy and smooth.

In the same sequence, farmer Uttar Kumar Pradhan of village Kolihadewari under Basna development block of the district, while thanking Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, said that farmers are happy under the good governance of Vishnu government and the state is touching new heights in the agriculture sector. He said that under Krishak Unnati Yojana, paddy is being procured at the rate of Rs 3100 per quintal, which has increased their income and also increased their confidence in agricultural work.

Now, as compared to earlier, there is more profit in paddy cultivation, the confidence in farming has also increased, apart from this, the difference amount is also being paid on time, for which the present government deserves congratulations.

Uttar Pradhan told that he had done agricultural work on a total of 11 acres, which has produced about 200 quintals of paddy and he is planning to buy land with the amount received from it. At Dhumabantha Paddy Procurement Centre, he sold 50 quintals of paddy in the first token and today he sold a total of 99.60 quintals of paddy in the second token. He told that as soon as he reached the centre, moisture checking, weighing and other processes of his paddy were completed immediately. They did not face any inconvenience in selling paddy and the entire process was transparent. He appreciated the arrangements of the state government. Complete arrangements have been made to ensure that there is no delay in issuing tokens, weighing and payment to farmers at the procurement centre. He told that they were planning to buy land for farming since long ago, but due to lack of capital it was not possible, but this time the government purchased it at the rate of Rs 3100 per quintal, which has increased the confidence to carry out its economic activities smoothly. He also said that this amount will prove useful in his future agricultural work. While again thanking the government for the scheme, he said that this payment being given per quintal of paddy is the highest in the entire country, which is a welcome step for the farmers.
