Raipur : The positive impact of the digital and transparent reform initiative taken by the Chhattisgarh government in the paddy procurement system is visible in the entire state. The online token system, well-organized weighing process and basic facilities adopted in various procurement centers of the state including Surguja district have provided a comfortable and reliable environment to the farmers for selling paddy.

Farmer Krishna Kumar Rajwade of Gram Panchayat Kanchanpur of Surguja told that he has about 260 quintals of paddy, for which he got the token sitting at home through Kisan Tunhar Token mobile app. He said that the app based facility has eliminated the need for crowd and repeated visits to the committee office, thereby saving time and making the paddy selling process completely simple.

He told that on reaching Namna Kala Paddy Procurement Center on the procurement date, gate pass was immediately issued, moisture test was done and gunny bags were immediately made available. Due to the smooth operation of the prescribed process, the paddy sale was completed without any hindrance. The facility of drinking water, shady seating at the center for the farmers and the cooperation of the committee staff was also particularly commendable.

According to the decision of the state government, this year the support price of paddy has been fixed at ₹ 3100 per quintal and up to 21 quintals of paddy is being purchased per acre. Rajwade said that this decision is providing significant economic benefits to the farmers, due to which an increase in income and economic activities is being recorded in rural areas.

Describing the paddy procurement system as completely transparent and farmer friendly, he expressed his gratitude towards Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai.

Rajwade said that due to better prices, digital facilities and well-organized system, farming is now becoming more profitable and both the confidence and morale of farmers have increased.
