Raipur : Under the Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana, efforts to strengthen livestock development in Dantewada district with scientific and modern technologies are continuously being successful. The result of this is the remarkable success of cattle herder Gaurang Pal (father Govind Pal) of Bengali Camp, Bhansi, who has become an inspiring example for the region today.
Taking advantage of the artificial insemination facility provided by the Livestock Development Department, Dantewada, Gaurang Pal has given a facelift to his dairy. With the use of modern technologies, 09 healthy calves have been born so far, due to which the breed of animals has improved and a clear increase in milk production capacity has also been recorded. Presently his dairy is producing about 100 liters of milk every day, which he is getting regular and satisfactory income by selling at the rate of Rs 70 per litre. This has further strengthened the financial condition of his family.
On January 10, 2026, the department conducted artificial insemination in their animals through heat synchronization technique. This technology ensured timely and effective breeding of animals, making dairy operations more scientific, well-organized and productive.
Gaurang Pal’s success gives an inspiring message to other cattle rearers in Dantewada district that with proper utilization of government schemes and adoption of scientific techniques, animal husbandry can be made a strong livelihood model. Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana and the initiatives of the Livestock Development Department have increased the confidence among the livestock farmers and have played an important role in making animal husbandry an effective medium of economic empowerment in the district.
