Bhopal. The locks, cupboards and drawers of the cabins of ministers and officials of Madhya Pradesh are lying damaged. The surprising thing is that the General Administration Department has been searching for a mechanic for the last four months, but till now no agency or mechanic has been ready for this work. Ministers and officers are troubled even in sitting in their respective cabins, because the locks and cabinets are not in proper condition. The General Administration Department has been continuously issuing tenders since the month of September, so that a mechanic can be found who can repair the locks and furniture of the cabins of ministers and officers, but till now the tender has been inconclusive every time.
There is spoiled stuff lying in the rooms of Vallabh Bhawan.
In Vallabh Bhawan, along with the rooms of ministers and officials, the tables and drawers in their offices are also in bad condition. The General Administration Department has been trying for many months to complete all these works, but it has not been able to get any success. A tender has been issued once again in the month of January and officials are hopeful that this time a mechanic will be found who can repair the broken locks and damaged furniture in the cabins of ministers and officials.
Tenders were floated earlier also
However, this is not the first time when agencies or employees are not available for any government work. Earlier, tenders were floated several times for repairing the name plates and chairs of ministers, but no one showed interest. The situation became worst in the summer, when no private company came forward to fill water in the water coolers installed in the ministry. After this, the Public Works Department employees were put on duty, only then the employees of the Ministry could get some respite from the heat.
Junk and files worth lakhs have been lying in the ministry and parking for 4 years
Junk worth lakhs of rupees has been lying in the ministry for the last four years, which also includes government files and furniture. There is a pile of garbage and old items from inside the ministry to its parking lot, but no scrap dealer is ready to buy it. The reason for this is said to be some guidelines of the General Administration Department, due to which no scrap dealer is able to meet the set standards. The scrap dealers or agencies to which work is given also do not work on time. The result is that there are piles of files in the parking lot and even where the employees sit, only junk and old files are visible all around.
The biggest challenge before the General Administration Department
Ministry employees say that there is no washerman available to wash sofa set covers, towels and curtains of ministers and officials. The situation has become such that ministers and officials have to get the cleaning done at their own expense. Now the biggest challenge before the General Administration Department is how to provide the necessary mechanics, washermen and junkies for the basic works of the Ministry, so that the government work can run smoothly and the chaos in the Ministry can be removed.
