Raipur : Expressing satisfaction over the paddy procurement system, farmer Manorama said that the present system is commendable and farmers are happy with it. He said that the income of farmers is increasing due to getting the highest price for paddy.
Farmers are getting relief in selling paddy due to the transparent and farmer-friendly system in paddy procurement centres. Due to the well-organized system, the process of selling paddy has now become simple, easy and quick. Mrs. Manorama Pathak, resident of Ambikapur, while appreciating the system of purchasing paddy, said that her farming is on about five acres of 20 decimal land in village Sohga.
Manorama told that due to excessive rain this year, some of her crops were affected, due to which only about 22 quintals of paddy was available with her for sale. He told that he easily got the token cut through the Paddy Procurement Centre, the process of cutting the token was completely smooth.
Relief to farmers due to transparent system of paddy procurement centers
There was no problem of any kind in selling paddy. Mrs. Pathak told that as soon as she reached Karji Paddy Procurement Centre, arrangements for gate pass, moisture check of paddy and gunny bags were made available immediately, due to which the process of selling paddy was very easy. For the convenience of the farmers, proper arrangements for drinking water and seating in the shade have been made in the committee centre. Besides, the committee employees are providing support to the farmers at every level.
Manorama said that the state government led by Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai is getting the highest price of paddy at Rs 3100 per quintal and up to 21 quintals of paddy is being purchased per acre, due to which the farmers are getting huge benefits.
