Raipur : The success story of farmer Anand Singh Kanwar, resident of village Kachar of Korba block of tribal dominated Korba district, is becoming an inspiration for many farmers today. Anand Singh, owner of 6 acres of agricultural land, says that the decisions taken by the Chhattisgarh government in the interest of farmers have increased both their agricultural income and self-confidence.
Anand Singh mainly cultivates paddy in his fields. He says that the support price set by the government and additional assistance provided under Krishak Unnati Yojana has made farming profitable. He says that by getting Rs 3100 for one quintal of paddy, farmers are becoming financially stronger and are taking more interest in farming.
Last year, Anand Singh had sold 50 quintals of paddy, whereas this year he has significantly increased his income by selling 80 quintals of paddy. Using the received amount properly, he purchased a motor pump to improve the irrigation system of his farm, which has further increased his agricultural productivity.
Anand Singh also appreciates the arrangements of the paddy procurement centre. According to him, all the necessary facilities are provided to the farmers in the procurement centres, making the procurement process simple, easy and without any hassle.
