Bhopal : The announcement made by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav to celebrate the year 2026 as Farmer Welfare Year is going to be fulfilled on January 11. Farmer Welfare Year 2026 will be inaugurated in the state at Jamboree Ground, Bhopal at 1 pm. Before this, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav will flag off the Krishi Rath and tractor rally of farmers at Kokta Bypass at 12 noon. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav will inform the farmers of the state about the activities to be conducted in the Farmer Welfare Year. In the program, farmers will be given information about the farmer friendly schemes of the state government and the works to be done in the farmer welfare year.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the focus sectors of the Farmer Welfare Year are horticulture, animal husbandry, dairy, fisheries and food processing. Agriculture has to be transformed into a profitable, sustainable and technology-based employment generation model. The aim is to promote district level cluster based development by integrating agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, fisheries and forestry. Along with this, the aim is to increase the income of farmers through higher productivity, natural farming, digital services, agro-processing etc. and to provide employment opportunities to rural youth in agriculture-based sectors like Agri-Tech, Drone Services, FPO Management, Food Processing, Hydroponics etc.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that agriculture and prosperous sectors are the cornerstone of the economy of Madhya Pradesh. While the agricultural budget is being continuously increased for welfare purposes in the state, many schemes are also being run for the farmers. These mainly include purchasing their produce from farmers at support price, Bhavantar Yojana for soybean producing farmers, distribution of relief amount to farmers affected by excessive rainfall, pest diseases and natural disasters, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, Chief Minister Farmer Kalyan Yojana, Chief Minister Krishi Unnati Yojana, Rani Durgavati Shri Anna Protsahan Yojana.
