Raipur : This year’s paddy procurement has become an economic support for farmer Nulam Sahu, resident of village Achoti in Durg district. He harvested paddy crop in his 2 acres 30 decimal field and after harvesting, he has now started preparing for Rabi crop. Under paddy procurement, he has sold 40 quintals of paddy.
Nulam Sahu reached paddy procurement center Kuthrel with his wife. Both expressed satisfaction after seeing the well-organized arrangements available at the centre. Farmers are not facing any inconvenience due to basic facilities like shed, drinking water and toilets. Along with this, regular lifting of paddy is also being done at the centre.
As soon as the paddy reaches the procurement center, its quality is checked and then the weighing process is completed. There is proper arrangement for filling, sewing and weighing paddy in the sacks provided by the workers of the committee. Once the weighing is complete, a receipt is immediately provided to the farmers, making the entire process transparent and reliable.
Farmer Nulam Sahu expressed his gratitude towards the Vishnudev Sai led government for the transparent and simple system of paddy procurement. He said that this year the paddy yield was relatively low, yet he got relief from the strong procurement system of the government.
Sahu said that he will use the money received from the sale of paddy to repair his house, so that his family can get better and safe housing facilities. Payment for the purchased paddy is being made directly into the bank accounts of the farmers. Besides, by deploying officers for constant monitoring at paddy procurement centres, it is being ensured that farmers do not face any kind of problem.
