Complete the approved public welfare works within the time limit: Minister Ramvichar Netam

Raipur : Tribal Development Minister and Minister in-charge of Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur district Ramvichar Netam, during his one-day visit to the district today, reviewed the priorities of the government and the progress of public welfare schemes in the Collectorate meeting room. Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal was specially present in the meeting. The main objective of the meeting was to ensure effective implementation of the schemes, timely completion and real benefits to the common people.

In-charge Minister Netam said in the meeting that all the pending works approved in the old budget should be completed within the time limit on priority basis, no laxity or negligence will be accepted. He directed to prepare concrete and practical strategies according to the circumstances of the district on subjects related to livelihood mission, makhana production, fisheries and agriculture. Underlining the possibilities of natural farming, emphasis was laid on promoting it extensively.

Minister Netam said during the review of the Agriculture Department that the climate of this district is extremely favorable for cash crops. He instructed to encourage farmers towards horticulture, pulses-oilseeds, vegetables and other cash crops along with traditional farming. Describing Makhana cultivation as promising for the district, he directed to start it as a pilot project and directed the Agriculture Department and Krishi Vigyan Kendra to jointly prepare a scientific action plan to promote the cultivation of sesame and pigeon pea.

In the review of Livestock Development and Fisheries Department, Minister Netam described poultry farming, goat farming, pig farming and fisheries as effective means of increasing rural income and stressed on connecting more and more farmers with training and financial assistance.

In the review meeting, Tribal Development Minister Netam gave instructions to speed up the construction works of roads, bridges, Anganwadis, community buildings and houses approved under the Pradhan Mantri Janman Yojana. Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural), special emphasis was laid on timely completion of all sanctioned houses with high quality. Along with this, while reviewing the Prime Minister Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme, the Minister in charge gave instructions to speed up its wide expansion and effective implementation and said that this scheme will prove to be a milestone in the direction of energy self-reliance. Instructions were also given to the Electricity Department to disseminate information about all the schemes to the public through social media.

While reviewing all the departments including Food, Revenue, Public Health Engineering, Electricity, Public Service Guarantee in the meeting, Minister in-charge Netam said that every scheme of the government should be transparent, result oriented and time bound. He stressed on working in mutual coordination with the officers to speed up the overall development of the district and strengthen the confidence of the general public.

District Panchayat President Suyashwanti Singh, Collector D. Rahul Venkat, District Panchayat CEO Suankita Som and senior officials of the district were present in the meeting.
