Godda will become a new hub of education! Governor gives green signal to Jharkhand’s second Sainik School, know when admissions will start

Godda: The 17th Managing Committee meeting of the Directorate of Sainik Welfare was held at Lok Bhawan under the chairmanship of Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar. Many important decisions and proposals related to the welfare of ex-servicemen and families of martyrs were discussed in the meeting. The Governor clearly said that protecting the interests of ex-servicemen and dependents of martyrs is one of the top priorities of the state and action should be taken with sensitivity in all matters related to it.

During the meeting, the Governor directed to develop the Jharkhand War Memorial located at Deepatoli as a major tourist destination. Along with this, he stressed on developing the ancestral village of Param Vir Chakra awarded martyr Lance Naik Albert Ekka as a model village and also expressed his desire to visit there soon.

Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar said that he is always available for any suggestion related to the interest of the state. He also said that continuous efforts should be made towards establishing a unique and inspiring identity of Jharkhand. It was also mentioned in the meeting that the Union Minister of State for Defense comes from this region, hence schemes related to defense and soldier welfare can also be placed before him.

In the meeting, there was serious discussion on the proposal to open another Sainik School in the state. Directorate of Sainik Welfare proposed to establish Sainik School in Godda, which was considered positively. Apart from this, there was also discussion on increasing the amount of assistance given to the dependents of martyrs who made supreme sacrifice in defense of the country.

The Governor also directed that the number of firefighters returning from the state after completing their service should be assessed and possibilities of providing them opportunities in other security and service sectors including the state police force should be considered. He also said that when soldiers are in the state on leave, prompt disposal of their pending personal or administrative work should be ensured.

Mentioning the increasing interest in military service among tribal communities, the suggestion of opening dedicated training centers for them was also discussed in the meeting. Besides, it was also considered to work with the help of JUDCO for reconstruction of decades old Sainik Market and Sainik Theater and to make ESM Corporation Fund more effective in Jharkhand.
