There is a big good news for Indian Railways passengers. The testing and certification process of Vande Bharat Sleeper Train has been successfully completed. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav on Thursday announced that the country’s first Vande Bharat sleeper train will run between Guwahati and Kolkata. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the train on this historic route in the coming few days.

World-class facilities will be available in night journey

The Railway Minister told during the press conference that the Vande Bharat sleeper train has been designed for long distance night journeys. This train will provide passengers with world-class facilities, better safety and a modern travel experience. This is being considered a major milestone for Indian Railways, which will further facilitate premium travel.

The first bullet train will run on 15 August 2027

Along with Vande Bharat, the Railway Minister also shared important information about the country’s first bullet train. He told that India will get its first bullet train on 15 August 2027. Vaishnav said jokingly, “You buy Bullet Train tickets now, Bullet Train will also come next year.” He stressed that the government is working seriously to complete this project within the stipulated time frame.

PM Modi took stock of the preparations

Regarding the progress of the project, the Railway Minister said that in November last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself had inspected the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail corridor during his visit to Gujarat. PM Modi reached Surat Bullet Train Station, where he inspected the work closely and encouraged the engineers and employees present there. While talking to the employees during this period, the Prime Minister had said that this project is a matter of pride not only for Gujarat but for the entire country. This high-speed train project will prove to be a revolutionary step in modernizing India’s transport system, providing passengers with the benefit of fast and convenient travel.
