Officials should set targets and reach the benefits of Samadhan Yojana to consumers.

Bhopal : Energy Minister Pradyuman Singh Tomar reviewed the progress of the solution plan through video conferencing on Tuesday. He said that the achievement of the target should be expedited and the scheme should be publicized in every village, street and locality. Tomar also gave instructions to ensure 10 hours uninterrupted power supply to the farmers during Rabi season.

Energy Minister Tomar instructed the officials that any kind of disruption in the power distribution system in the state will not be tolerated. He said that the main task of the electricity company is to provide quality and adequate electricity to the consumers and to get payment for the actual consumption at affordable rates. He said that Madhya Pradesh is a power surplus state. Also, the government is now taking rapid steps towards solar energy. He said that for the success of the solution scheme, every divisional and district level officer of the state should ensure the responsibility of their subordinate executive engineer, assistant engineer and junior engineer. To achieve the target we have to make consumers aware about the solution scheme.

Minister Tomar said that the progress so far in the first phase of the solution scheme is not satisfactory. There is about a week left for the first phase of the scheme to end. During this period, work on a war footing to extend the benefits of the scheme to the consumers at the grassroots level. He said that officials should directly contact eligible consumers with outstanding amount of more than Rs 2 lakh. Tomar gave instructions to review the solution plan daily at the level of Chief Engineer and Chief General Manager and provide the report.

Energy Minister Tomar said that the first phase of ‘Samadhan Yojana’ is till December 31. Its second phase will run from 1 January to 28 February 2026. This includes domestic, non-domestic and agricultural consumers as well as those whose electricity connections have been disconnected, so that they can become respectable consumers again by paying their dues.

Secretary Energy Special Garhpale and MDs of power companies and other officials were present in the meeting.
