Raipur : In the Kharif marketing year 2025-26, the work of purchasing paddy is going on rapidly at the paddy procurement centers of the district. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, farmers are getting fair price for their produce due to the purchase of paddy at support price by the government, which is strengthening their economic condition and they are able to easily fulfill their family and social responsibilities.
Farmer Ajay Kumar Jureshiya, resident of village Gopanilchuwa of Ambagarh Chowki development block, said that he reached the paddy procurement center Adejhar for the sale of 250 bags of paddy this year. He has 8 acres of agricultural land, where he cultivates paddy using traditional methods. Due to the government purchasing paddy at the rate of Rs 3100 per quintal, they are getting a fair price for their produce, while the sale amount is being deposited directly into their online account within 24 hours.
Farmer Ajay Kumar said that this year he will use the money received from the sale of paddy in his nephew’s wedding. He said that the purchase of paddy at support price has further strengthened the confidence of farmers towards the government. With the amount received, they are not only able to meet their domestic needs but are also able to invest in farming activities.
Praising the arrangements made at the procurement centre, he said that due to the availability of adequate gunny bags, transparent electronic weighing and digitalized payment system, the process of selling paddy has become simple, fast and convenient. In the end, he expressed gratitude towards Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai and the district administration for the efforts being made in the interest of farmers.
