Bhopal : Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that Madhya Pradesh is achieving a historic and unprecedented achievement in the field of health today. Bhoomi pujan of medical colleges is taking place today in two tribal dominated districts of the state. Special gratitude from the people of the state to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda for providing affordable, accessible and quality health services to the last person sitting in the last queue of the state. This will be the first medical college in the country to be built on PPP mode (Public-Private Partnership). This initiative is starting from the soil of Madhya Pradesh.
Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda said that the bhoomi pujan of the Medical College in Dhar is a historic occasion for the country. Madhya Pradesh has given leadership to the country in the field of health. The first medical college in the country is being started on PPP mode with innovative thinking and public participation in the state. Madhya Pradesh has led the country in this matter. There has been a major change in the health system of the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that in the PPP model, society and government will work together to strengthen health services and provide better treatment to every person. Service and development is the basic mantra of our government, the last two years have been unique from the point of view of public welfare and development. Madhya Pradesh is the only state in the country in which metro trains were launched in two big cities – Bhopal and Indore within a year. Along with this, air services are also expanding in the state. Now air service is available from Rewa to Indore and New Delhi. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the program organized at PG College Ground, Dhar for laying the foundation stone of Medical College on PPP model in Dhar. Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Chemicals and Fertilizers J.P. Nadda was the chief guest of the program. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav and Union Minister Nadda laid the foundation stone of the medical college and inaugurated the development works of Dhar district by pressing the button of the remote.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that in the month of August this year, the contract was signed to establish four new medical colleges in Betul, Katni, Dhar and Panna on PPP model. Today the foundation stone of Dhar and Betul is being laid. Soon the foundation stone of medical colleges will be laid in Katni and Panna also. After these districts, there are preparations to establish similar medical colleges in Bhind, Morena, Khargone, Ashoknagar, Guna, Balaghat, Tikamgarh, Sidhi and Shajapur. A medical college is being constructed on 25 acres of land in Dhar district at a cost of Rs 260 crore. Swami Vivekananda Shiksha Dham Foundation has joined hands with the government for this medical college. By giving 25 acres of land on lease at Re 1 to the Foundation, the state government has opened the way for strengthening health and medical education. Now people of Dhar will not have to go to big cities for treatment. Local tribal children will also get an opportunity to become doctors. Nursing and paramedical courses will also be conducted here.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that there were only 5 medical colleges in the state till the year 2002-03. Now the number of medical colleges in the state has reached 33. Six government medical colleges were started in the state in the last two years. These also include medical colleges of tribal areas Singrauli and Sheopur. The state government has approved 354 posts of Senior Residents Doctors. Taking forward the sickle cell anemia campaign in the state, more than 1 crore 25 lakh people have been screened. More than 15 lakh people were screened in Dhar under the sickle cell programme. Upgradation of 800 beds and approval for 810 new posts of doctors is being given in the hospitals of Tikamgarh, Neemuch, Singrauli, Sheopur, Dindori of the state.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Dhar has the blessings of Rishi Dadhich and Mother Narmada. This is also the birthplace of Jan Sangh’s patriarch and former national president Kushabhau Thackeray. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Dhar district has received many development works in the last 4 months. On his 75th birthday, Prime Minister Modi performed the Bhoomi Pujan of the country’s first PM Mitra Park in Dhar. Through this textile based industrial park, the cotton producing farmers of the area will benefit and more than 3 lakh direct and indirect employment opportunities will be created.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that PMAY ambulance service has become a boon for remote areas in the state. Now the needy are getting free treatment and air ambulance facility through Ayushman Card. For the convenience of the families after the death of the family, dead bodies have been made available in all the district and civil hospitals of the state. The state government has started Rahveer Yojana to help those injured in road accidents. This is the humanitarian side of the state government. The state government is providing an amount of Rs 25,000 as incentive to the passers-by who take the injured to the hospital on time. Also, to encourage organ donation in the state, a tradition of giving guard of honor to body donors and their families has been started.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that today Dhar district is getting a total of 93 development works costing Rs 626 crore. This includes inauguration of Sandipani School, hostels, girls stadium, various roads, law college, primary health center etc. Bhoomi pujan of Geeta Bhawan, to be built at a cost of Rs 15 crore, is taking place in Dhar. Bhoomi pujan of a total of 26 boys and girls hostels in Dhar-Manawar-Gandhwani and Kukshi at a cost of Rs 104 crore is also being done today. Dhar district is continuously moving on the path of development. Approval of Rs 18 thousand 36 crore has been given for Indore-Manmad Railway Line Project. The state government is determined to provide irrigation facilities from the water of Mother Narmada to all the villages of Dhar. These activities will definitely give wings to the development of Dhar.
Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda said that now in the country, emphasis is being given on preventive cure before curative, that is, attention is being given to prevention and change in lifestyle before the disease. There are 1 lakh 81 thousand Ayushman Arogya Mandirs operating in the country for holistic medicine. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, India is moving towards becoming the third largest economy in the world.
Union Minister Nadda said that there were 387 medical colleges and 51 thousand MBBS seats in the country in 2014, today there are 819 medical colleges and 1 lakh 29 thousand seats for MBBS. Prime Minister Modi has set a target of increasing 75 thousand seats before 2030. Bhoomi pujan will also be done for Katni and Panna Medical Colleges in Madhya Pradesh next month. Union Minister Nadda congratulated Vivekananda Knowledge Foundation officials Mrs. Sunita Kapoor and Sushruti Kapoor for starting a medical college and hospital on PPP mode. He said that the Government of India and the State Government stand with this innovative initiative of the Foundation. He said that with the opening of the medical college in Dhar, doctors will reach every village. The PG doctors coming out from here will also join the service of Madhya Pradesh. We have come not to enjoy power, but to serve. Union Minister Nadda said that the cotton growers of Dhar have received a gift through PM Mitra Park. Madhya Pradesh government has started the facility of air ambulance for the first time in the country by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav in Madhya Pradesh. There is a sensitive government in the state, dead bodies are being provided to the people in difficult times.
Senior MLA and State President Hemant Khandelwal said that today a historic beginning is being made for the development of the state from the land of Dhar. By building medical colleges and hospitals on PPP mode, better treatment will be available to every poor and needy. This decision of the state government will prove to be a milestone for health facilities. Urban Development and Housing Minister and in-charge of Dhar district Kailash Vijayvargiya also addressed the public meeting. Deputy Chief Minister and Public Health and Family Welfare Minister Rajendra Shukla, Union Minister Mrs. Savitri Thakur, Organization General Secretary Hitanand Sharma, senior leader Vikram Verma, many public representatives, officials of Jan Bhagidari Sansthan and a large number of local people were present in the program.
