He was admitted to Raipur AIIMS, where he breathed his last at 4:58 pm on Monday evening. His demise is being considered as an irreparable loss not only for Chhattisgarh but for the literary field of the entire country.

Vinod Kumar Shukla was born on 1 January 1937 in Rajnandgaon. He received higher education from Jabalpur Agricultural University and later worked as an agricultural extension professor. His contribution in the field of poetry, stories and novels was unique. Compositions like ‘Servant’s Shirt’, ‘Kabhi Ke Baad Abhi’ and ‘Sab Kuch Hona Bacha Rahega’ still deeply influence the readers.
