The protesters allege that the accused could not be arrested even a week after Hadi was shot. Abdullah Al Jaber, Secretary of Inquilab Manch Organization, gave a 24-hour ultimatum to the government and said that if the Home Advisor did not resign, the movement would be intensified. After the funeral, a large number of people moved towards Shahbagh intersection, where slogans like Inquilab Zindabad and Dhaka Dhaka were raised. Some protesters also demanded changing the name of Shahbag to Hadi Chattar. The political turmoil in Bangladesh is not showing any signs of stopping. Protests continued in the country for the third consecutive day on Saturday following the assassination of Sharif Osman Hadi, a prominent youth leader of the July 2024 movement. Hadi’s funeral was held in Dhaka amid tight security, but at the same time anger and dissatisfaction were clearly visible on the streets. On Saturday, thousands of people from across the country attended Hadi’s funeral prayers at Manik Miyan Avenue, which is located near the Parliament House. Dhaka Metropolitan Police had made heavy security arrangements. A large number of police forces were deployed along with about 1000 body worn cameras so that any situation could be kept under control.
