Raipur : The easy system of purchasing paddy at support price has given farmers a new sense of ease and confidence this year. Farmers of Bemetra district are satisfied with the better system of paddy procurement. Modern technology, online token system and regular monitoring of authorities have made procurement more simple and transparent than before.
Farmer Meenesh Dewangan of village Kumhi of Bemetara has sold 163 quintals of paddy this time. They say that the entire process from reaching the procurement center to weighing was completed without any problem. By getting tokens online, the problem of crowd and long waiting got eliminated. This was quite a relief.
Meenesh says that this time the arrangements at the procurement center were good. The weighing took place on time, the staff provided full cooperation and there was no chaos of any kind. Payment is also expected to be received on time, which will help in better preparation for the upcoming crops.
Other farmers present at the paddy procurement center also said that this year the procurement arrangements were more easy, transparent and farmer-centric than before. Regular checking of weighing machines, digital records and constant presence of officials have further strengthened the confidence of farmers.
Satisfied with the procurement system, Meenesh expressed gratitude towards Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai and Bemetra district administration and said that the reforms done by the government have actually made the process of selling paddy easy and reliable for the farmers. He expressed hope that such simple and transparent system will continue in future also.
