The Dairy, Fisheries and Animal Resources Department of Bihar Government has come up with a special scheme for fishermen. Its name is Boat and Net Package Distribution Scheme. Under this, 90 percent subsidy of the fixed unit cost is being given to the members of the State Fisheries Cooperation Committee or traditional fishermen on the purchase of boat or net.
To avail the benefits of this scheme, eligible applicants will have to apply online on the website by Wednesday (31 December). To apply, you will have to submit your mobile number and bank branch name, bank account number, IFSC code as well as Aadhar card number, bank account, and evidence related to Matsya Shikarmahi.
These people will get the benefit of the scheme
Along with traditional fishermen, women fishermen and Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe fishermen will also be able to take advantage of this scheme. Under the scheme, members of the Fisheries Cooperation Committee of the state or fishermen-beneficiaries who do fishing work.
One person or one family will be able to avail the benefit of maximum one component out of Fishing Uden Boat Package, Fishing FRP Boat Package and Cost Net Package. This decision of the government will provide relief to the fishermen community to a great extent.
Fishermen of all districts can avail the benefits of the scheme
The unit cost for Fishing Uden Boat Package is Rs 1 lakh 24 thousand 400, for Fishing FRP Boat Package it is Rs 1 lakh 54 thousand 400 and for Throw Net Package the unit cost is Rs 16 thousand 700. The beneficiaries will be selected by a committee constituted under the chairmanship of Deputy Fisheries Director.
This scheme of the Dairy, Fisheries and Animal Resources Department of the State Government will empower the fishermen and increase their income. Fishermen from all the districts of the state can take advantage of the state government’s ambitious boat and net package distribution scheme.
