Abu Dhabi. Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar co-chaired the 16th Joint Commission Meeting and the Fifth Strategic Dialogue with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy PM and Foreign Minister of the UAE, in Abu Dhabi. During this, both the leaders reviewed aspects related to the comprehensive strategic partnership between India and UAE and discussed the major priorities of the times to come. Speaking at the X on Tuesday, External Affairs Minister Jaishankar said that today’s deep cooperation between India and the UAE advances common interests and contributes to regional and global stability.
According to media reports, Jaishankar said that after the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement and bilateral investment treaty, he highlighted the significant increase in trade, investment, financial technology and digital connectivity between India and UAE. He also pointed to the huge potential in the area of ​​connectivity and logistics, including initiatives like the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor. They also stressed expanding energy cooperation, especially civil nuclear energy cooperation, strengthening education and cultural exchanges, and further strengthening defense and security cooperation.
Apart from this, he stressed the importance of promoting people-to-people exchanges and strengthening cultural ties, increasing cooperation in new areas such as critical minerals, space and polar research, and mutual coordination on international platforms. Jaishankar wrote that it was an honor to meet the Vice President and there were useful talks on deepening economic and defense cooperation between India and UAE. Apart from this, the Foreign Minister also met Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer of UAE’s Mubadala Investment Company. The meeting discussed the global geo-economic scenario and opportunities to further strengthen India-UAE relations.
