Varanasi. Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal inaugurated hydrogen-powered water taxi in Varanasi. During this, Sonowal said that the introduction of hydrogen-powered water taxi in Varanasi will not only benefit the local people but also the tourists from India and abroad coming here. Minister Sonowal said that a lot of development has taken place in Varanasi under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He has also given a new look to Kashi Vishwanath Dham. Because of this, tourism and trade have increased significantly in Kashi. He told that it has been made in the country under Make-in-India and has been launched for the first time in Varanasi.
Sarbananda Sonowal said that under the National Hydrogen Mission, all the ministries are working day and night to increase green cover and reduce pollution in the country. Under this, green transport is also being promoted. It has been started from Varanasi today on the guidelines of PM.
He said that this is a big step towards pollution free India. Water taxis running on hydrogen do not cause any pollution. There is neither any sound nor any kind of smoke comes out in it. In such a situation, people can enjoy the journey. The minister said that this journey will not be limited to Varanasi only. It will also be connected to other cities. There are plans to extend it till Haldia in the near future.
