Bhopal : The State Election Commission gave training to the Deputy Election Officers of the respective districts regarding the upcoming Panchayat and Urban Body by-elections through video conferencing. His doubts were also resolved. Deputy Secretary Manoj Malviya said that the election process should be conducted as per the rules.

Deputy Secretary Sanju Kumari gave detailed information about the Integrated Election Management System. He said that every election is important, there should be no negligence in preparations.

Legal officer Pradeep Shukla explained in detail about the various processes of urban body elections. He said that voters will directly elect the post of president of urban bodies Majhauli district Sidhi and Semaria district Rewa. He said that voters should assess the material and send demand letters. There was also discussion about security arrangements. Emphasis was also laid on election related training.

It is noteworthy that the schedule for by-elections of urban bodies and three-tier panchayats has been announced by the State Election Commission. Voting will take place on 29 December 2025. The work of publishing election information and receiving nomination papers for the by-election has started from December 8, 2025. Nomination papers will be taken till 15th December, scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on 16th December. The last date for withdrawal of names is 18 December. Allocation of election symbols will take place on the same day. Voting in urban bodies will be held on December 29 from 7.00 am to 5.00 pm. Counting of votes and declaration of election results will begin at 9.00 am on December 31.

Voting in Panchayats will take place on December 29 from 7.00 am to 3.00 pm. Counting of votes for Panch post will take place at the polling station immediately after voting. EVM at the development block headquarters of Sarpanch, District Panchayat member and District Panchayat member. The counting of votes will start from 8.00 am on January 2. The election results of Sarpanch and District Panchayat member will be announced on the same day. The results for the posts of District Panchayat members and Panch will be announced on January 5, 2026 at 10.30 am.

There will be by-elections for 2 presidents and 9 councilors.

By-elections will be held for the president of Municipal Council Majhauli of Sidhi district and Semaria of Rewa district and 9 councilors in various urban bodies. By-elections will be held for the post of councilor in Ward 34 of Municipal Corporation Singrauli, Ward 8 of Municipal Council Mandla, Ward 5 of Municipal Council Lahar and Ward 4 of Municipal Council Mau, Ward 5 of Mehgaon, Ward 13 of Alampur, Ward 9 of Satwas, Ward 3 of Semaria and Ward 2 of Pansemal.

Elections will be held for 4 posts of District Panchayat, 14 posts of Janpad Panchayat and 67 posts of Sarpanch.

Under the Panchayat by-election, there will be elections for 4 District Panchayat members, 14 District Panchayat members, 67 Sarpanch and 3872 Panch posts.
