Raipur : For the first time, construction of permanent houses has started under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in Niyad Nellanar village Chipurabhatti of Naxal affected Bijapur Usur development block. Due to Naxalite activities for years, implementation of government schemes was difficult here, but the beginning of Niyad Nella Naar program has opened a new path of development in the village.

Rambai got her first permanent house – got support for her old age.

74 year old Rambai of the village was living in a dilapidated hut for a long time. After the death of both his sons due to illness, the responsibility of his daughter-in-law and four grandchildren also fell on him. Due to Naxalite terror, construction work could not be done in the village. In the financial year 2024-25, an amount of Rs 1 lakh 20 thousand was approved under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Rambai tells that she did not expect that she too would ever get a permanent house built. Today his house is ready and it is the first completed house of Chippurbhatti village. She considers it the biggest support of her old age.
There was a change in Lakhmu Panik’s life too.

Lakhmu Panik of the village has also been sanctioned a house under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural). After the death of his wife, he raised his son alone and took care of the family by farming 2 acres of land. Now the son is married and happiness in the house has increased with the arrival of the grandson.
Lakhmu says that with the help of the government, now he too will have a safe and strong permanent house. It is a symbol of respect and protection for his family.
New beginning of development in Naxal affected area

These houses sanctioned under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana have not only changed the lives of two families, but have also given the message that the light of development is continuously reaching the Naxal affected areas. The Niyad Nella Naar program has provided a new impetus to change in the village.

This success story shows that when government schemes reach remote and sensitive areas, real change is possible in people’s lives.
