Raipur : Health facilities in Kawardha are continuously expanding at a rapid pace under the leadership of Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma. As a result, the number of deliveries in the district hospital has continuously increased. People’s confidence in District Hospital Kawardha has also increased, which is estimated from the fact that patients from nearby districts of Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai, Bemetara, Mungeli as well as from Mandla and Balaghat districts of Madhya Pradesh are coming to Kawardha for treatment.
Due to which there has been a continuous increase in the number of deliveries in the district hospital. If we compare the number of deliveries every month in the past years, an increase of up to 50 percent has been seen in the average of every month. Where the average number of deliveries every month used to be around 230 to 240, it has increased to 380 to 390 and the maximum increase was seen in October 2025, where the highest number of 413 deliveries have been recorded in a month since the opening of the hospital, while in November 2025 also 400 deliveries have taken place.
In this context, Civil Surgeon of the District Hospital, Dr. Keshav Dhruv said that under the guidance of Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, the facilities in the District Hospital have been continuously expanded. From the appointment of doctors to new equipment, labs and buildings, facilities have been provided here. Due to which people are getting benefits. The increasing number of deliveries in the district hospital mainly reflects the increasing confidence of the people. This has been possible due to the continuous expansion of basic facilities, new state-of-the-art facilities and availability of gynecologists. Deliveries are being conducted continuously under the leadership of department head Dr Jitendra Verma. In this, from January 2025 till now, District Hospital Kabirdham has got the first position in the state in night cesarean operation, where a total of 1331 successful operations have been performed so far.
Raveena’s husband Rajkumar Tandon, who came from Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai district for delivery in District Hospital Kawardha, told that when he was undergoing treatment in Gandai, the doctors told him that it was not possible for him to have a normal delivery, so we asked him if we should go to any big city for treatment, then the doctors themselves informed him about better treatment in Kawardha. After which we came here and received better treatment here. Similarly, Jitendri Patel’s husband Vijay Kumar Patel of Gandai told that he was also referred to Kawardha for better treatment from Gandai, after the treatment here, both his wife and child are now healthy, he thanked the government for this.
Sita Janghel, sister of Seema Janghel of Khairagarh, told that when she got examined by the doctors during labor pain, the doctors advised her to deliver by caesarean and advised her to go to Kawardha District Hospital for better arrangements and treatment. After coming here, we received better treatment and also full support from the hospital staff.
Hemlal Sinha, husband of Rajkumari Sinha, who had come for delivery from village Bahar of Bemetara, told that when he came to know about the pregnancy, he was very happy, after being examined by the doctors, we were informed that normal delivery was not going to happen, where we were told by Mitanin Didi about better delivery facilities at low cost in District Hospital Kawardha instead of expensive treatment in big cities. Hemlal told that we have been here for 3 days and after the operation, both the child and the mother are completely healthy. We have also received great support from the entire staff.
Anita and her husband Rajkumar, who came for delivery from Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh, told that when we got the health checkup done by the doctors, they informed us that we would not have a normal delivery, on which we were very worried. The doctors advised us to go to big cities immediately as there were no good delivery facilities anywhere near us. Then we were informed by our relatives about the best health facilities in Kawardha District Hospital, after which we came to Kawardha. Here we got the best health facilities and also got proper treatment at low cost, for which we got the government’s approval. Grateful.
