Raipur : Age 86 years, wrinkles on the face, but a glow of self-reliance in the eyes. For Bhaktin Rai of village Rajanwagaon in Kabirdham district, digital technology has now become not just words but the stick of her old age. After losing her husband 30 years ago, the pension for which she had to go to the bank, today the same money is available through her thumb impression in the digital facility center of her village. Today a small center is proving to be a digital boon for thousands of villagers like Bhaktin Rai.
Bhaktin Rai’s husband died about 30 years ago. After living in difficult conditions for a long time, she is now getting the amount of Destitute Widow Pension and Mahtari Vandan Yojana regularly every month. Earlier they had to go to the bank to withdraw money, which took both time and effort. Now, they get the money immediately from the digital convenience center of the village and also know how much amount has come into their account. His son and daughter-in-law support the family by working as labourers. The daughter-in-law is also getting the benefit of Mahtari Vandan Yojana, which helps in household expenses. The pension amount received for treatment and medicines has become a great support for Bhaktin Rai. Bhaktin Rai’s house is also built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, which has given her the facility to live safely. She says that now all the work is done easily in the village itself, due to which she does not have to go far.
So far, transactions worth more than Rs 18 lakh have been done through the Digital Facilitation Center of Rajanwagaon. Here the villagers are getting many types of financial and government services. Facilities like cash withdrawal, fund transfer, life, general and agricultural insurance, pension, PAN card are available at the centre. Along with this, certificates are also being generated through registration of various government schemes, electricity bill payment, train and air ticket booking and e-district services.
The people of the village are easily able to withdraw the amount of Divyang Pension, Widow Pension, Mahtari Vandan Yojana, deposit money in other’s account, get information about the amount of housing scheme and other important works from here. The Digital Suvidha Kendra has provided great relief especially to the elderly, women and needy people. For people like Bhaktin Rai, this center has now become not just a service center but a strong support that makes life easier.
