Raipur : A grand statue of 51 feet high forest dweller form will soon be installed in Mata Kaushalya Dham, Chandrakhuri, located on the holy land of Chhattisgarh, famous as the maternal birthplace of Lord Shri Ram. This huge statue has been formally departed from the historical city of Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh. On the instructions of Chhattisgarh Government, this statue has been created by renowned sculptor Deepak Vishwakarma, awarded with the President’s Award. This statue, prepared with months of hard work and excellent craftsmanship at the Sand Stone Art and Craft Center in Gwalior, presents a wonderful confluence of Indian culture, spirituality and art.
Divine image of Lord Shri Ram in the form of a forest dweller
This statue depicts the forest-dwelling form of Lord Shri Ram, in which he will be seen wearing a bow and arrow, symbolizing restraint, sacrifice and dignity. The statue is made from specially strong and durable ‘Sand Mint Stone’, which is famous throughout the country for its strength and longevity. It is noteworthy that two grand statues have already been installed under the Shri Ram Vanagaman Path project being developed by the Chhattisgarh government. Among these, Shivrinarayan Temple and Sita Rasoi are prominent. Seeing the artistry and attraction of the statues installed at these places, the construction work of this 51 feet high statue was entrusted to Deepak Vishwakarma.
Ramvanagaman path will get a new dimension
Chandrakhuri is considered to be the maternal birthplace of Lord Shri Ram, where Mata Kaushalya’s maternal home is situated. Now this new huge statue will be installed in place of the Shri Ram statue already installed here, due to which this place will not only become a center of religious faith but will also reach new heights from the tourism point of view.
Conservation and beautification of historical and mythological sites is being done under the Shri Ram Vanagaman Path Project being developed by the state government. With the installation of this grand statue, Chhattisgarh will emerge more strongly on the map of spiritual tourism.
Confluence of faith, art and development
This 51 feet high statue is not just a statue, but a symbol of Chhattisgarh’s cultural identity, religious faith and craft tradition. Once it is established, Chandrakhuri will become a major attraction center for devotees and tourists from across the country. This is being considered a historic step towards promoting religious tourism in the state and preserving cultural heritage.
