Jabalpur. 5 Afghan infiltrators were presented in ATS court in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. After the hearing, the court has sent the infiltrators on judicial remand till March 10. The accused had got fake passports made from Damoh Passport Office. The accused used to apply for fake addresses in passport offices of small towns. ATS has sent him to jail on judicial remand after the hearing on Thursday.
The accused were arrested from Kolkata
All the Afghan infiltrators were arrested by ATS from Kolkata 3 days ago. These include Zia Ul Rehman, Sultan Mohammad, Raza Khan, Syed Mohammad and Zafar Khan. After this ATS brought the accused to Jabalpur. Two days’ remand was granted to the accused for questioning. On February 25, the accused were presented in the ATS court. After hearing the arguments, the court sent the accused to judicial custody till March 20.
To avoid suspicion, fake passports were made from small towns
ATS told the court that many things have been revealed in the investigation. Investigation has revealed that the accused deliberately used to get fake passports made from passport offices of small towns, so that no one could get suspicious. Arguing in the court, ATS said that it is dangerous for foreign citizens to get passport after staying in India illegally for 6 years.
Reached Kolkata from Kabul via Delhi in 2018-19
ATS investigation has revealed that the accused had entered India in the year 2018-19. The accused had reached Kolkata from Kabul via Delhi. MP ATS had arrested the accused from Kolkata. However, many officers of the Passport Department are under the scanner of ATS. These are the same officers who had helped the accused in getting passports made.
